SEASON 18 AUDITIONS

Join our award-winning competitive program - designed for dedicated, passionate dancers ready to grow.

Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th

AUDITION DETAILS/PROCESS

Each dancer interested in auditioning must complete our Audition Form and register for Season 18 Auditions through the Dance Studio Pro Portal.

The audition form allows our staff to learn more about each dancer, including their training background, experience, and goals. This helps us place dancers in the most appropriate level and ensure we are evaluating them with the best fit in mind.

  • Mini Team - Ages 6 and Under

    Petite Team - Ages 6-9

    Junior Teams - Ages 9-12

    Teen Teams - Ages 12-15

Senior Team - Ages 14 and Up

  • In addition to our competitive teams, we also offer an Elite Team Program designed for dancers who are eager to train more, grow within a team environment, and take advantage of additional performance and training opportunities.

Dancers can select to be considered for an Elite Team Position, however, the staff will make final decisions based on recommendations.

  • All dancers may audition for a solo, duet, or trio. These opportunities require an additional commitment beyond team expectations. Placement and participation will be based on staff recommendations, taking into consideration each dancer’s readiness, training, and ability to balance the added responsibility.

  • Dancers seeking additional performance opportunities may be selected for a special group. These groups are thoughtfully created by our staff with a specific concept and vision, allowing each routine to be tailored to the dancers’ strengths and abilities.
To be considered, dancers must select the option on their audition form indicating interest in special groups.

BEFORE YOU AUDITION

  • Being on a competition team is a rewarding and high-level commitment that goes beyond regular classes. Dancers participate in weekly training, team rehearsals, and competitions throughout the season, all while continuing to grow in both technique and performance.

Team members are expected to show dedication, strong attendance, and a positive team mindset, contributing to a supportive and hardworking environment.

  • Mini and Petite dancers are evaluated by our staff members. While their audition process is more relaxed and structured in a class-style setting, teachers are looking for knowledge of basic technique, listening skills, behavior, and most importantly, their love and joy for dance.

Junior, Teen, and Senior dancers will be evaluated by three outside judges. Dancers will be scored in the following areas: ballet fundamentals, overall technical ability, and audition combination.

  • Audition results will be sent in two rounds.

The first email, sent within 14 days of auditions, will inform you if your dancer has been selected for our competitive team.

Upon accepting placement, dancers will be required to submit a competition commitment fee. After this fee is received, a second email will be sent on July 6th outlining full placement details, including team placement, solos, duets, trios, Elite Team placement, and any special group opportunities.

  • The competition commitment fee is used to secure your dancer’s placement on the team. This fee confirms your dancer’s acceptance into the program and allows our staff to begin finalizing team placements, choreography, and planning for the season.

  • Consistent attendance is essential to each dancer’s growth and the overall success of the team. As a competitive program, we expect dancers to be fully committed to their training and team responsibilities.

Dancers are expected to attend all scheduled classes, rehearsals, and team events. If a dancer will be absent, notice must be given in advance whenever possible.

Each dancer is allowed up to 3 absences per class, per season. Once a dancer exceeds 3 absences, the studio reserves the right to implement consequences, which may include removal from choreography, routines, or additional opportunities such as solos, duets, or special groups.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Dancers must have their Audition Form completed, including all required information and selections for what they are auditioning for. They must also be registered for the Season 18 Auditions through the Dance Studio Pro Portal with payment submitted.

Once both steps are completed, you will receive an email approximately two weeks prior to auditions with any additional information or required paperwork.

  • Dancers receiving a headshot may wear casual attire of their choice, including their preferred hairstyle. Time will be provided before and after for dancers to change into their audition attire.

  • For auditions, dancers are expected to wear proper all-black dance attire with appropriate dance shoes. Hair should be neatly secured and pulled away from the face. Each dancer will receive an audition number, which must be worn for both days of auditions.

  • Auditions will be closed to observers. This allows dancers to stay focused, fully engaged, and enjoy the experience of working with future teammates.

  • If your dancer is unable to attend the scheduled audition date, we ask that you still complete the Audition Form and registration. Once submitted, our staff will review the form and reach out to coordinate a video audition or schedule a makeup audition.

  • For any additional information, please feel free to reach out to us via email. We would be happy to connect and answer any questions about our competition team, audition process, and additional programs offered at Elite Dance Force.
